I am a fully qualified science teacher. I now tutor online. In 2008, I accepted a post to work in a science department that had, at that time, a neglected physics department. By 2016, the science department was judged as outstanding and was ranked among the best in the county. I had been nominated for two teaching awards and our team was seen as an example of best practice. I left to start a family, completed an English as a Foreign Language certificate and built this website to provide support for student in the UK and around the world who need great GCSE results.

So many times I sat at the parents’ evening desk with a parent who claimed they never understood Physics when they were at school, what was I doing differently with their child? What was I doing to allow my students to look forward to my class?

You see, my approach is that Physics doesn’t have to be a stale, pointless, boring science subject with too much random maths. Open your eyes and Physics is everywhere you look.

I chose to study Archaeological Sciences at university. I left school with A-Level Biology and Chemistry but nobody mentioned Physics during my application. What a shock when I found the most interesting modules all contained an element of Physics!

As a result, I had to teach myself A-Level Physics from very shaky foundations.

But, in learning my way, I realised that Physics is beautiful. Physics is life! The universe works like a giant clock. Everything is in harmony.

So I came into teaching to show students what I saw.

And I got results. Value added scores consistently 10% above national averages. 100% top grades in non-selective secondary education.

Most importantly, I had happy, engaged students.

You will still follow your school’s syllabus, you will still prepare for your school’s exam but I hope you will also be inspired by the fabric of the universe that cradles us as well.
